An extra socket by your desk
Show me where it would go and tell me what you plan to plug into it. That gives me the details I need to check the existing supply.
New and replacement sockets
Where would you like the new socket?
Perhaps you've moved your desk and the nearest socket is now on the other side of the room. Send me a photo of the position you have in mind. I'll check the circuit and cable route, including any work needed in the wall.

The job you need
Show me the position you have in mind and send any fitting or appliance details you already have.
Show me where it would go and tell me what you plan to plug into it. That gives me the details I need to check the existing supply.
A photo showing the old and new positions is useful, especially if furniture or fitted cupboards limit access.
If you've chosen a particular fitting, send me its make and model. I can check whether it suits the existing wiring before you buy it.
The position needs to suit the appliance and leave its switch accessible. Send the kitchen layout if you have one.
During the visit
The existing wiring affects what can be done. I'll check it and explain the work before you agree to it.
We agree the socket type and position, then I check the circuit it will connect to.
The cable route determines how much wall work is needed; I'll explain that before pricing the installation.
We also agree who will repair any plaster and decoration afterwards.
Ask which wall repairs are included in the quote. For a socket that has stopped working, use socket repairs.
Arranging a visit
Your postcode and a description of the problem give me enough to start. We can then agree a time and the visit charge.
Tell me what's stopped working, or what you'd like installed. A photo is useful if the fitting is difficult to describe.
I'll check when I can get to your address and explain the visit charge before we book a time.
For a repair, the price depends on what I find. I'll explain it before doing that work.
Before you get in touch
Ask about the visit charge when you contact me. Any repair work is priced once I've checked the problem.
Yes, provided the circuit and cable route are suitable. Tell me where you want it.
You can. Send the details before buying and I'll check whether it is suitable for the installation.
Possibly, depending on the route for the new cable. We agree that work and any repairs to the wall before installation.
